Lace Day at Sellwood Community Center
The Portland Lace Society will be hosting its annual Lace Day on Saturday Oct. 2, 2010, from 10:00 – 3:00 at the Sellwood Community Center, 1436 SE Spokane St., Portland. Approximately 50 area lace makers will be gathered for the event. This is a great chance to see how lace is made. Guest speaker, Terese Blanding, will provide a wonderful display and talk on “Handkerchiefs – Artful Little Squares of History.” Vendors will be available for purchase of lace making supplies and antique laces. Afternoon events include mini classes in bobbin lace, tatting, and Romanian Point Lace. Door prizes and raffles will take place at 2:00. Admission is free. Public welcome. Questions?
